Basswood is termed Linden and
Limewood in Europe. Basswood
is well suited for carvings, mouldings, cabinets and
paints well. When moulded, Basswood is an
excellent choice if the mouldings have a very intricate
profile. Basswood maintains a "crisp" shape after
moulded. |
|
Basswood is known as the
"softie" of the hardwoods. By this, it is meant
that although Basswood is a hardwood (botanically), it
is very soft in weight....about one half the weight of
Oak. |

All Aromatic Red Cedar is
knotty and Hogan Hardwoods & Moulding requires a high
percentage of heartwood from our suppliers. The
more numerous the knots and heartwood will produce the
most pleasing odor. Aromatic Red Cedar must be
carefully seasoned to retain the aromatic oils that
produce the pleasing odor. Aromatic Red Cedar is
the best choice for closet lining. |
