Shedua (pronounced Shed-u-ah) is also
called Amazakoue, Mozambique and |
|
Ovangkoi and is
imported directly from sawmills in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Cameroun
|
|
by Hogan Hardwoods International. |
|
Shedua's color
is from a mid-yellow to a chocolate brown with grayish-black
stripes. Concerning cutting tools, there is a moderate blunting
effect due to the silica content of the wood, and cutting edges
must be kept sharp. The wood nails and screws well, glues with
difficulty and finishes nicely. Shedua's heartwood is moderately
durable and is an excellent choice for furniture, cabinets and
flooring. |
